Saxophone Ensemble: Explore, expand, and create.
Explore the connections between classical music and modern jazz. Expand your ability to solo and sing through your horn using various scales, melodic techniques and phrasing concepts. Create a group composition, as well as learn specialized group arrangements inspired by the music of Bach, modal jazz, and more.
Once confirmed, saxophone rehearsals are 3 hours long, 9:30am to 12:30pm, on August 2, August 16, Sept 6, Sept 13, and Sept 27, with a final open rehearsal on September 28 at the Grand Avenue Festival.

ADMISSION FEE: Sliding scale from $10 to $25.

GYCB SAXOPHONE ENSEMBLE is for adult learners (18 years or older), non-professional/ recreational musicians with basic playing and reading skills (standard music notation). Acoustic instruments only, please bring your own. Soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones are welcome.
