Live professional performances are essential to a quality, in-depth arts education program. Performances serve as models of artistic excellence, inspire creative thinking and introduce young audiences to the world's diverse cultural traditions.
Music Center on Tour brings the immediacy of live performance to schools. These performances reflect and celebrate the finest artistic contributions of the world's cultures - from the colorful regional dances of Mexico to exquisite music of the Middle East, from the pulsating rhythms of West Africa to the golden harmonies of early 20th Century America.
All Music Center on Tour performances are designed to complement and enhance student workshop series. All assemblies include written teacher preparation materials which contain background information on the artist and specific performance, pre- and post-performance activities for the classroom, and connections to multiple school subjects.
